It seems our prayers were answered on Saturday, as that was one of the very few days in the past couple of weeks that it did not rain. It was a great day at Cannstatter Volksfest Verein, in northeast Philadelphia, as over 200 of our alumni, former teachers and friends gathered to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the opening of Northeast Catholic.

In addition to our alumni, families, friends and former teachers, we would like to thank the people who made this day possible. First and foremost, Mike Kaiser '73, the chairman of the Homecoming committee, as well as the rest of that committee, including Jim Kelly '70, Steve Cardullo '72, Joe Glackin '73, Greg Masi '73, John "Jess" Jastrzembski '75, Ken Rooney '82, Mike Ferris '82 and Matt Comey '93.

We also had other alum helping throughout the day, including John Garson '72, who helped with checking in the attendees. Tom Gillen '78 and Joe Kaiser '66 spent much of the day manning the merchandise table. And thanks to Jeff Brown '79 for providing the music and DJ entertainment throughout the day and Greg Masi '73 for taking the photos throughout the afternoon. You may have also noticed our Chaplain, Fr Dalton OSFS, handing our information for our next event. That event will be a mass at the old building (1842 Torresdale Ave). For details about that mass, you can click here.

We want to thank the staff at Cannstatter Volksfest Verein, who provided an awesome outdoor venue, cold beer and great food. It was such a successful day, we may consider having our Homecoming - All Years reunion there every year.
