North Catholic Alumni Helping a Church in Need

At the mass last month prior to the Alumni Association's Communion Breakfast, it was announced that the collection during that mass would be donated to the Our Mother of Consolation Parish. That parish, which is an Oblate of St Francis de Sales parish, suffered a devastating loss when a fire broke out in the school. The school was destroyed and the students had to finish out the school year at a new location.

The Northeast Catholic Alumni Association stepped up, as did the alumni, family and friends of Northeast Catholic who contributed that day. During that collection, $2,100 was raised for the parish. On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, Alumni President, Bob Kensil '74, along with Executive Secretary/Treasurer, Steve Cardullo '72, delivered a $2,100 check to the Fr John Fisher OSFS, Pastor of Our Mother of Consolation. Father Jack Kolodziej OSFS (NC '87), Oblate Provincial of the Wilmington-Philadelphia Province, was also on hand.

The Northeast Catholic Alumni Association would like to thank all of those who attended and contributed, as we as those who contributed separately. A Catholic education is very important to many of us, and little acts of kindness like this will help Our Mother of Consolation Parish continue this educational tradition in Chestnut Hill.
